I believe that most politicians start off as truly dedicated souls. We give them the right to govern and we hope that their government will be fair and good. At first, they listen to the people, but then begin to fear what Thomas Jefferson called "the tyranny of the majority." They find themselves moved to compromise for political gain and are pressed by union, corporate and powerful subcultures. They are only human...after all.

Only time will tell if Elizabrth May is riding the crest of a new wave, or if she is just another Politician.

Every person’s life is interesting.
A personal history is the presentation of a person's life story, memoirs and /or life values, in printed form.
Some people feel that their life is fairly normal or simply wouldn't be all that interesting to others. They wonder what others would expect them to say or to write about?
Stop for a moment and put the shoe of the other foot. Wouldn’t you like to know what your great-grandparents’lives were really like—in their own words? Their lives may have been exceptional, but they were probably just normal people of their day. Still, it would mean so much to us if they had been able to reach out to us over the ages and so be present in our hearts today.
No matter how ordinary you might think your life is, it’s extraordinary and a gift to your descendants and to future researchers. As Mark Twain said, “There was never yet an uninteresting life.”

How Do You Find Time to Write?

Some people have an inner drive to write, and do it all the time. Others never seem to find the time to write.

It helps if you set aside a time each day for yourself to work on your ethical will or Personal history. Hopefully, it will be when you are not too tired and not going to be distracted. Some people find that the early morning is best, others prefer the evening. You have to find out what works for you.

I find anytime a good time, providing that I have done some mental preparation and have all my tools in place. I have to think about what I want to say and how I am going to say it. I have to remove distractions from around my computer, including helpful family members and pets. This will be my time to write.

The Main Lesson to Learn

When you write an ethical will or a personal history, let the words flow from your heart to the hearts of those who will hear or read them. This is the main lesson to remember. You are not writing a literary treatise. You are not writing for the eyes of a scrupulous editor prior to publication. You are writing about your deepest experiences, feelings and values: things that you want your children, your grandchildren and their children’s children to know. Write so they will not-forget-you. More importantly, write so they will learn and grow on the experience and wisdom of your years.
